Is the nhs pension scheme about to be massacred will the government break its promises to you . WILL you be in a final salary scheme after 2015. Lord huttons report published this morning it makes depressing reading if you thought your retirement was all sorted.

thanks mike . catfoot mike has provided the link u seek im in the same situation as you and your years accrued will be worth bugger all because its based on your final salary when you left. ie for me 20 years ago and salary was 16 grand i had 10 years service. so even without these changes my pension would not put 4 tyres on my merc when i reach retirement age in 17 years time . with inflation at 5 percent a year im not sure ill be able to afford the air in the tyres.

 

Shouldn't worry Fish; you certainly won't be able to afford the juice to use it, but it will look nice standing on the drive, and the deflated tyres will prevent the odd passing banker nicking it!
