NBA Bans Basketball Shoes by Athletic Propulsion Labs Based on League Rule against "Undue Competitive Advantage" That Increases a Player's Vertical Leap

Just stumbled on this (It sounds like a publicity stunt in my opinion).

 

Not read the research in depth but judging by their website they are definitely using the fact that the NBA has banned them as part of their marketing.
Could spark an interesting debate in other sports, e.g. Adidas Predators in football, do they increase swerve on the ball unfairly.
I personally think the predator benefits are minimal so are not unfair but where is the line drawn.
