Have others heard about the 'On' running shoe. It seems the Swiss have done it again (i.e. MBT footwear) with another innovative footwear design.

This time it is a running shoe. It certainly looks interesting... & the theorizing is certainly addressing the right points (i.e. less stress/strain to soft tissues, decreasing metabolic cost = longer running at optimal performance). Just hope it is effectively converted onto the road. Not so sure about the degree of those "horizontal forces" for some runners - would depend on individual's running technique i.e. foot strike. Eccentric forces may have been an optimal term to use. Wish they wouldn't use claims like... "toning and slimming their upper thighs and buttocks". However, all in all, sounds impressive. Hope those "CloudTec™ element folds" are durable enough to withstand the average training life of a running shoe.
Here is the website... this page has an interesting video.
The heel/forefoot height differential (pitch) doesn't look to be too much via the pictures (which is a good thing). However, I feel that future models could/should have a lower heel. The video focussed on a heel striker but I wonder how they respond on a midfoot striker?
Here is another video... with an interesting slowmo perspective from the rear...
I can't help but wonder how effective those "CloudTec™ element folds" will be on the various body weights of runners... particularly on the heavy runners. Maybe they could have future models with different firmness/stiffness of the "CloudTec™ element folds" based on body weight.
