    21 y/o female relative, slim build, sits most of day at work however trains 3 nights a week (boxercise?) for last 3 years; no change in weight or activities and footwear (boxing shoes till 2/12 ago now 'joggers' > no change in symptoms)

    C/o burning pain in B/arches whilst non-weightbearing, mid-air between jumping / skipping especially, not felt otherwise

    12/12 duration of symptoms, no previous hx of injury

    consult over phone so no examination/tests performed

    Any history of lateral instability? Can you get WB x-rays on her?

    "C/o burning pain in B/arches whilst non-weightbearing, mid-air between jumping / skipping especially" makes me think neuro. e.g. sciatica, spinal stenosis. Of course you need full exam

    Eric-while I've never seen sciatica present B/L, spinal stenosis might be in the differential...but even still, it's a mixed bag. However...I'm thinking along the same lines as far as neuro. The pain while NWB, ie., while in the air, might be a red herring...or maybe not. More info is needed.
