Rockhampton Podiatrist wins half marathon

MIDWAY through the half marathon at the Rocky River Run, Anna McMurtrie wasn't sure if she'd make it over the finish line.

But just over a year after giving birth to son Henry, Anna claimed first in the 21km event.

The Rockhampton podiatrist, whose column on fitness after birth has been published in The Morning Bulletin, said she was just focused on crossing the finish line.

Having had Anna as a mentor this is great to see. She is very passionate about biomechanics and often uses this to help her get an edge over her competitors. Well done Anna!
