Three weeks ago, I stepped off of a deck and rolled my ankle (outward). It was extremely painful, however I don't recall whether or not I heard any sort of popping noise at that time. It was several minutes before I could put any weight on it and even then I couldn't really do much but walk gingerly and with a significant limp to get somewhere where I could sit down. It was somewhat painful for several days and I did some ice. It was slightly discolored for a few days, nothing major.
