My stepfather, David Winfield Scott, was an accomplished artist and scholar. He had a long and storied career in the art world, including serving as the Director of the Smithsonian National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. He passed away at age 92 in 2009, but I recently came across a fascinating collection of poems, which reflected his dry sense of humor:

    Running Commentary:

    A daily run,
    Some think is fun.

    I'm not
    That dumb.

If I went jogging as a ritual
I think I'd end in the hospitual.

I will not turn the TV on
To watch them run the marathon.
I simply won't pollute my vision
    With orgies of mass masochism.

I just came across this poem two years after his death. Maybe I'm just getting a little nostalgic, but I thought I would share.
