Oi Englishmen, what is the nature of Mr Shaw's foot injury that will keep him out of the 'drubbing to come' at the hands of the mighty Wallabies!!!!! and why hasn't it been remedied?, yours truly, Matt Dunning fan

According to BBC sport his foot problem is a stress reaction in his 4th Met.

  3. Phil Vickery is out now as well, add that to the loss of Sheridan, Mears, Delon Armitage and Tom Rees. Luckily, Jonny seems to be fit and on form.

None of that really matters, anyway. The big deal was when our daughter scored her 7th goal of the fall season last night on her 18th birthday. Not bad for a defender converted to striker this season as she gets ready to play division 1 soccer in college next year. :D

But, beyond that, injuries usually have a conditioning component to them, especially in women's soccer. Daughter gets up every morning to do her core work and keep her legs in shape to reduce that. She already had back issues with a pars defect and knows she has to do this or risk having that go into a tail spin.

Last weekend, she visited the university she is committed to attend and some of the team there asked her why she was out doing sprints and she told them her club coach told them what to do for conditioning so she was doing that. The college players said they would just have told the coach they did it - but really wouldn't.

Leigh Anne noted then she wouldn't be in good enough shape when she plays against better teams if she did not do what was needed. We see it all the time with players who cheat on sprints or other conditioning work and yet they still think they are going to get the benefit - while not doing the work. Kind of like our patients who expect to get better - while not taking their prescriptions, no doing their PT, not watching their diet, etc.
