    With seamed socks / hosiery what difference whether the pt wears them inside out or not, as was taught in the old days. It doesn't change the depth of the seam either way, so equal pressure, so what the fuss?

    In some cases, the thread used to join the seam is quite abrasive, so inside out-ting the socks stops the thread from rubbing the toes.
    I find it helpful with my gym socks ( the cheapies) - would be more worth my while to buy good quality socks, but on a pod income............!!!!

    Yes I agree, most socks have a rough seam at the toe which can cause irritation and some times blistering. I advise patients especially those with diabetes or neuropathy to turn the sock inside out to prevent any trauma
