The science of patient satisfaction

Among its findings are the following:

*The top-priority item regarding patient satisfaction was the sensitivity of the caregiver to patient needs, indicating the need for practices to personalize their interactions with every patient.
*The second priority item was the overall cheerfulness of the practice. This area includes both staff interactions with patients, as well as staff-to-staff interactions observable by patients.

Overall rating of the care provided was the third priority item, followed by comfort of the exam room and the time spent waiting in the exam room.
