    Hi Folks

Does any one use both techniques - when one over the other ?

When not one technique and why ?

I have a patient who I believe needs a surgical release and they have asked about TOPAZ and would like to give them some advice from those that use both techniques or have a better understanding of things surgical than me.

    Thanks

    Hi

I use Topaz before release every time now. Apart from probably being a better treatment, you're unlikely to see the problems on gait that happen on occasion with the release. You have a release as a fall back should the Topaz fail...

(bear in mid we don’t do THAT many as conservative stuff usually works!)

  3. Thanks Ian The patient is at the end of a long road and lives over 1000 km from me so follows up are a bit of a nightmare and we get 50 % improvement for a month then back to old pain levels.

ATB ? at the beach ?

    Hi Mike

From my experience with Topaz I rarely needed to doe a plantar fascia release I may have done it in three patients!

I find the Topaz to be my treatment of choice when the patients as had pain for more than 2 years and probably it is no longer a plantar fasceitis but a plantar fasciosis other wise I just prefer conservative treatments!
    Cheers
