Hi there

Just had a 4 month pregnant women in our clinic with warts. Had one large wart on her heel which has been there for a year and 2 newer ones also on the same foot.

Just wondered if anyone has treated a pregnant women safely for verrucaes?

Does anyone know other treatments options out there?

I suggested the banana skin, masking them with strapping tape, selling them, talking to them about surgery....

If the lesions are not painful, I wouldn`t treat them. VP`s have a tendency to manifest and disappear spontaneously during and after pregnancy. This is due to the profound immunologic, metabolic, endocrine and vascular changes that occur.

This paper suggests that physiological and pathological changes of the skin associated with pregnancy, usually resolve once the decreased cell-mediated immunity returns to `normal` (whatever that means ;)) and specific humoral antibodies are activated to fight those pesky viruses.
