I do have a fairly well-stocked library of biomechanics textbooks and I am always on the search for new biomechanics books that I may find useful.

I just found a gem of a book, that was published 15 years ago!
It is: Lucas GL, Cooke FW, Friis E:A Primer of Biomechanics, Springer, 1999.
I was actually able to purchase this book used for $4.52 (used in good condition) on the internet, but it is also on sale new for $132 on Amazon. There are a few more of these books used for sale if you want a cheaper copy. Type in "A Primer of Biomechanics, used books" into Google if you want to see a few that are for sale.
A Primer of Biomechanics is an excellent book for any podiatrist interested in tissue stress biomechanics, even though it is actually directed toward the orthopedic surgery resident. The book is clear, concise, full of practical explanations of important physics and biomechanics terminology and concepts that directly apply to the tissue stress podiatrist and today's current biomechanics research. It is also written in a manner that should be understood by non-engineer clinicians that have a good understanding of basic physics concepts.
Regardless, A Primer of Biomechanics is the first book that I have ever read that is written in the manner that I would write a textbook on podiatric biomechanics directed toward podiatrists, if I ever took on that challenge.
