How does stuff like this get past ethics committees to actually get done, let alone past editors and journal reviewers? Do they get any worse than this one?

    Indeed!

    Where to start:
-how did they end up with exactly 25 subjects in each of the 4 groups if randomization was really used (its is statistical probably but not high)
    -no blinding of participants
-no blinded assessment of outcome measures
-did not use outcome validated measure of foot health/function/pain
-no statistical analysis of any baseline differences
    -no statistical analysis of outcome!!!!!
-the data does not support the conclusions
    -etc
    -etc
    -etc

    Was there an ethics committee?
I have only quickly browsed this, but it looks like a study done privately?
    Had good intentions...

    - No control group

  6. Thats the biggy. I'd have liked to see a control group of sham ultrasound.

Curious to know the difference between an insole and an orthotic.

  7. One works by altering the load/deformation characteristics, the topography and/ or the frictional characteristics at the foots interface; the other works by altering the load/deformation characteristics, the topography and/ or the frictional characteristics at the foots interface, but costs more.
