I`m looking for someone who can do a cheilectomy and soft tissue decompression for a stage 2 Hallux Rigidus, north of the border.

I guess there are no Podiatric Surgeons working in the NHS in Scotland so an Orthopod will probably be the only route.

Any recommendation would be welcome, someone who is not going to attempt heroic surgery to prove how clever they are but one who works on the principle of 'less is more'.
    Glasgow, Edinburgh area preferably.

    Many Thanks

    John,

I'd suggest Mr Kumar in Glasgow. I was fortunate to be able to shadow him on a few occasions and was very impressed. Former patients I have seen of his have been positive of their experience.

To be clear I don't work in specialist surgical practice, just passing on my experience in good faith.

    Morning John,

there is a guy called Colin Thomson who is an extended scope Podiatrist ( he doesn't call himself a surgeon) and works as part of the orthopaedic team at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.I am not 100% sure, but I think he is still there,

    Ian.
