    hello, does anyone have any experience or advice for total nail avulsion of a 5th nail with crumbling onychomycosis? previous surgery was unsuccessful due to what i can only assume was nail left at the site - very crumbly???

    Always difficult because the remaining layer of damaged nail will resist attempts to remove it. Probably best to use an incisional technique such as Zadeks.

    thanks Bill for your reply. i would assume that this procedure would then require a referal to the local pod surgeon?

    any other suggestions out there if the pt doesnt want a zadeks?
