I've left it late & am unable to do my anaphylaxis training through my state association. There are online courses for this but would this be approved by the Reg. Board? One organisation that provides it is the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology & Allergy (http://etraining.allergy.org.au/).

 

I would have though the Reg Board or state association would be the best place to ask. Be silly to do a course only to find out it was not approved.

I would also bet your not the only one so by contacting the associated you may help get another course run to help people like yourself

The HLTFA301B course I think is the one offerd by the A.Pod.A. (Vic.), but also available from many providers, just google it, one company runs courses in both Melb and Sydney everyday and the cost is $109, and the CPR update for $55.

so as ASCIA doesn't apear to be a registered training authority, offering a course HLT.... it isn't appoved.

 

A few weeks ago, I directly queried a course code in anaphylaxis training with the Board, which is not listed in their formal documents;

22099VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

To which I got the response;

" the Board considered the information you provided regarding the CPR component of the Board’s CPD requirements at its September meeting.

The Board agreed that completion of the Perform CPR [HLTCPR201A] plus an appropriate standalone training package in management of anaphylaxis will meet the Board's CPR requirements."

I suppose it is now up to you whether you consider that the on-line course is an "appropriate stand alone training package".
