I am curious to know if anyone out there have any patients suffering from arachnoiditis. I have a new patient who suffers from it and has constant pins and needles which generally she can cope with but after speaking with her she also has burning in her feet which prevents her from wearing enclosed footwear. My main query is how to help her feel more comfortable and reduce the burning sensation, would something like Biofreeze be of any help?

Arachnoiditis is an inflammatory condition of the arachnoid mater or 'arachnoid', one of the membranes known as meninges that surround and protect the central nervous system. The outermost layer of the meninges is the dura mater (Latin for hard) and adheres to inner surface of the skull and vertebrae.^[1] The arachnoid is under or "deep" to the dura and is a thin membrane that adheres directly to the surface of the brain and spinal cord.^[1]
