Bugger ....... I understand and sympathise BUT some get really entertaining. i do get a giggle from the 'cleverer' contributors, no names need be mentioned (they all seem to be located in the same country!)

 

In a certain sense it's not possible to 'go over old ground' as the intervening posts between the 'original' and the 'repeat' change the meaning, no matter how slightly.

Apart from that things often have to be repeated many, many, many times before they are finally hammered home.

Think of the number of times you have heard parents or friends tell the same story. There's something endearing about it, isn't there?

PS I think that all closed threads should be reopened within a forum of their own and I think that the title of the forum should be [I]Chuffin Bobbins[/I], ref Blinda(2013). It would be a better outcome than assigning them to room 102.

 

Whatever happens to the 'closed' threads don't destroy them. Somewhere along the line they are going to make wonderful source material for those researching the sociology of the professions.

 

Just think - in a few years time when the forum contributors begin to lose their powers of recall - if it hasn't already started - we can start all over again and it'll be just like new!
