I had a bone spur removed 2 years ago by a podiatrist between my 4th and little toe, as it was causing a soft corn. I had infection complications afterward requiring 4 weeks of IV antibiotics, and the involvement of infectious disease specialist. In the last year the soft corn has reappeared, and the burning pain is increasing mightily, as well as edema surrounding the soft corn. He removed a spur from this same problem toe 25 years ago.
