I was having a look at the APodC webpage for the 2015 National Conference on the Gold Coast.

$2300 (early bird) and $2770 (standard) registration for non APodC members????
    Are they serious?

    Plus airfares (I'm in Perth)
    Plus accommodation
    Plus spending money
    Plus 1 week off work

What planet are these people living on?

I could take the family (2 adults and 2 children) to Singapore / Phuket for about the same sort of money!

Well, not if you are a member. You could take out a membership, get all the benefits through the year then the conference is pretty standard conference cost.

The cost for some of these conferences can be quite confronting at first, but for the true cost-value of any conference divide it over the 12 month period.

    $2770 / 250 working days a year = $11.08 a day or a Coffey and a piece of cake a day.

Plus the bonus of CPD's and what you pick up and apply to your clinical practise will earn you more and gain you more.
