No publicity is bad publicity - even if it's in the Daily Mail. The use of the term 'podiatric surgeon' is interesting and can be quoted back at them in the future!

I'm disgusted that this piece claims that bunion surgery neither cures nor causes cancer!

Honestly, what is the daily mail coming to!? I may write a strongly worded letter.

What proceedure are they talking about here?

I don't know about this particular 'Daily Mail op'. but there are dozens of variations on a theme. Similar ops. are mentioned in my treasured copy of Kelikian 'Hallux Valgus, Allied Problems of the Forefoot and Metatarsalgia'. This is valuable simply because of the number of alternative surgeries on offer for HAV and well worth an hour or two for this reason alone. It looks as though people obtained a dowel and tried as many ways as they could to modify it in ways that no-one else had thought of - and then of course, attached their name!
