Have gentleman with plantarfasciitis/ heel pain who I would like to treat with a posted casted device with medial skive, forefoot valgus posting and heel raises. He has bought over counter devices which he finds to be of some benefit for about a week but don't last because they bottom out so quickly. He's 16 stone. He wants to have at least three pair because he knows he would not be bothered changing between shoes, but he is reluntant to pay for three casted orthotics. Have told him I would research to see if there are more durable prefab. on market to which I could add some of the above additions to try and cut costs.

I have been looking on the u.k. market for more durable devices but they all only guarantee 6-12 month wear. Can anyone recommend more durable prefab. devices for big build men like this.

Slimflex Simples are pretty indestructable. Also at a fiver a throw he can have 3 pairs easily enough!

RX Skives are 3.5mm polyprop. I seem to remember them acually being more rigid than this. I think the contouring and deep heel contour make it stiffer. If needs be you could stick some posting to it yourself
Alternatively, library system like Salts Performer and you can specify arch height posting and thickness of material - £40 per pair, a bargain

Other thought is talar made quadrastep system. 50 squids and returnable if not correct.
