    Hi everyone

I am a researcher currently undertaking a new and exciting project in the UK on behalf of the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and I am looking to carry out some informal interviews with podiatrists to help in the development of a toolkit to help professionals support patients to make healthier shoe choices.

We will be recruiting a sample of both Podiatrists and patients and conducting informal interviews to help us explore practitioner and patient understandings of 'healthy' footwear and reasons why take-up of advice on making healthier footwear choices is low amongst patients. We are particularly interested in tensions between practitioner and patient values and motivations and will be using the data to design a toolkit to help improve dialogue between the two groups. It is hoped that this will be a useful resource for podiatrists and help them to empower patients to make positive and sustainable changes in their footwear choices.

I'd like to speak to around six podiatrists and/or Shoe Fitters who would be interested in sharing their own experiences and offering ideas and suggestions for the toolkit - and I wondered if anyone on this forum would be interested in finding out some more information about getting involved? The study would involve a 45 minute informal interview and invitation to a follow-up focus group. I am based in North-East and Yorkshire but can travel or Skype.

I look forward to hearing from you! Please reply or message me privately for more information!

    Emily
