    You would think that any ankle sprain history would be prevented because any elite player sustaining such an injury would have their ankle strapped during training and games for the short, medium and perhaps longer term.

    An appropriate ankle strapping application should confidently prevent a recurrence of a typical sprain. Clinically this can be achieved. The same cannot be said about a cruciate ligament (and for that matter a hammy or groin). It is not enough just to counter varus and valgus forces for instance.

    That is the biggest problem.




    I wouldn't call this ground breaking research, but it does confirm clincial suspicion and common sense.
