Gastrocnemius Stretching Program: More Effective in Increasing Ankle/Rear-Foot Dorsiflexion When Subtalar Joint Positioned in Pronation Than in Supination JSR Volume 24, Issue 3, August; 2015, 24, 307 – 314
Not read the Correct alignment article but correct alignment,
really haven't we got past this is correct for all yet?.
Makes more sense being pronated which of course will elongate the muscle further ie stretch it and be different for each individual
For a discussion when stretching the Soleus
ie bent knee , would you get the patient to be more Pronated standing neither pronated or supinated ( not possible for a person to feel it but you get what I mean) or more Supinated ?
To get them into any position other than a natural position will require muscle contraction. Do we want a muscle contracting when we are trying to stretch it? Me thinks not.
