hi everyone, How effective is glucosamine sulfate for articular cartilage regeneration? Am I right in saying its only effective for people with minor cartilage damage, while major cartilage damage its ineffective for regeneration?

Does it really matter? Are you going to tell someone to not try it if they have more cartilage damage? It seems quite benign, and if it works you are a genius. There are even some studies that show that it works better than placebo.

Whilst on the topic; does anyone know of any supplement (or anything for that matter) that helps with joints - cartilage/labrum repair?
Is cartilage/labrum repair even possible? (Or are we still in the dark ages on such conditions?)
I’ve heard of many supplement claims (i.e. the above mentioned) but there just doesn’t seem to be the research backing it up. Then there is the anecdotal side... which I do still have a (skeptical) ear open too. But by crikey, there’s a ship load of B.S out there on this topic... morons preying on the pain of others/the vulnerable (i.e. many of my patients). Hence the question & interest.
Personal opinion, anecdotal (patient views) & of course research evidence welcome.
