    I look forward to some great discussions and a lot of learning. As a recent and well-matured graduate who lives in quite a rural area I have just come to accept that I may need to start my working life as self-employed, domicillary podiatrist. The thought frankly daunts me. Any useful hints and tips or messages of support would be welcome!
    Good wishes to you all.

    Hello Susan,

    Apologies for my delayed :welcome:

    So :welcome::welcome::welcome:

    Starting up in private practice can prove a hard though very worthwhile career choice. I have been in private practice for 12 years (during which I also undertook some NHS work to pay the bills while I built up my practice from scratch). I left the NHS approx' 4 years ago & I am really enjoying the challenge.

    I do not respond well to authority ;)

    You will find The Arena a great resource of information & support so feel free to jump in & ask questions, read along with debates (some of which become quiet heated).

    We are a friendly bunch & rarely bite unless provoked :boxing:

    The threads on private practice may give you a good starting point.

    All the very best in your new venture.

    Regards,

    Mandy
