    Hi Guys,
I was wondering what the grading in community health accounts for? How long does a pod have to work for before applying for a higher grading position? Does post grad study count towards it too?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lucy,

Have you looked at the current health services award for podiatry? That should give you an indication of approximately what is required for each grade and the years of experience you should have.

I personally think that relevant post graduate education is taken into consideration when you are applying for a higher graded job.

    I hope that helps

    Lucy,

The Vic Award requires 7 yrs for a G3 and10 for a G4. There is a separate payment for a HQ.

But this does not stop a less experienced but motivated pod from applying for a G3 position, as the award stipulates the minimum payments, not any over award payment.

G3 and 4 positions are based on the capabilities of an individual as well as the type of work undertaken. G2 are based on the work expected to be undertaken, regardless of capability, hence a new grade could often find themselves in a G2 position, based on duties, not experience.
