Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone out there has handouts for:

• plantar fasciitis stretching and home treatment (iced coke can etc)
  
• Dry needling pt information
  
• Also, a pre and post nail surgery handout?

I'm happy to make up my own over the weekend, but want to make sure I'm putting in everything I should be!

Hi Lucy, I have loads of leaflets, as I believe you can verbally explain something to a pt but whether they will remember it all, is another story. Also by giving out leaflets, that is another form of advertising - if someone else picks up the leaflet....

Thanks for that. You are dead right. My practice has several other health professionals involved and a more substantial booklet with others advertising would be great. Getting on to that now

Check with your prof body, and see what's available through other channels - I know the orthopods and physios put out onfo about PF.

Just to continue on with this thread.
I am about to start working in a place where there are no handout for patients. I am happy make some templates myself but was wondering if there are any copyright issues?
My professional body only has a stretches handout that is really handy but I am wanting to make up handouts for actual conditions (i.e. Sever's, plantar fasciitis), and wondering can I just go on the net and use the available pictures and info?

Thanks LucyPod for the handout link. That's a nice handout of all the stretches I use for p.fasc. Much neater than me hand-drawing or my own printed up version .

 

Hey Lucy. That link has some nice and easy stretching pictures.

...Now i dont want to be picky but is does say that treatment is aimed at restoring your arch. This probably isn't going to happen.
I dont want to get off topic but i do feel its important not to have the public thinking that an arch is going to form and solve their problems. I tend to deal with these people weekly who are disappointed some OTC devise hasn't changed anything. And then they think that orthotics will never work for them etc.

I'm using just the 2nd page as the 1st page is not really helpful other than a nice picture to draw on to provide further information.

 

This is one i have just started making for our hospital. Bit more fiddling around but have found the few patients who have received it tend to comply a little better. Also I got the pictures from the net so im not too sure if thats classed as stealing ... I'm probably going to replace them with photos to just be sure.

But if any one has any ideas to make it better I'm all ears.

or we could just put all the ideas together and come up with a standard podiatry plantar fasciosus form.

I'm the same Mark. Always liked this handout for it's pictures, but never given out the first page - mainly as the accuracy and terminology of the first paragraph is very poor.
