Hi .... All,

This maybe a long shot but it's the only thing I have to go on.....
94 yr old lady presented with bilateral red, shiny swollen tender crack dermatitis on her heels ( i have a great jpeg but not sure how to get that on here) that the GP has prescribed " a steroid cream" appeared spontaneously about 2 mths ago.... .... the only other 'change' that happened at the around the same time was that she was suffering from a severe episode of Shingles.... she also has a very minor version of it affecting both palms.. Has anyone ever come accross these two together before ?

Could Keratoderma Climacterium be in the DD? I heard it can be triggered by traumatic occurrences - could shingles be traumatic enough? I dunno, just thought I would add that.... Sorry if its way off! :wacko:

`Tis a possible DD, but I would be very surprised if this 94 year old was pre/menopausal. As the man stated; ‘Climacteric’ is used to describe the time preceding menopause.

Virtually impossible to hazard a guess at a dermy diagnosis without a pic, sorry.

Yeah, he has that effect on many. Remember; common things occur commonly but it`s the zebra`s of this world that file lawsuits....
