Hi,

I have a pt who came in complaining of pain on the lateral border of the 5th MPJ. It's quite enlarged but no signs of infection. I'm thinking bursitis.
I've padded around the area to prevent more friction to the area, but not sure of long term treatment. Any good ideas? Either of a long term padding solution or something else that would work?
He wears extra wide shoes and is no longer working, but at the moment is in so much pain he's finding it hard to walk. There is no history of trauma and the joint itself is quite flexible.
Any help would be really appreciated!!
Thanks,
Lucy
