    hi everybody!
I'm Maria Cantarelli a student of Podologia from Milan.
I would realize a thesis about the Tissue Stress Theory.
Do someone have any literature about?
Maybe about the birth of Tissue Stress Theory...?
Or about the discrepancies with the other modern theories?
    For example:
at university we are studying Dr. Root's Theories; in which clinical practice is better to use one than another?
    Thank you for your regard!

    Bye! Maria .

    Hi Maria,

There are parts of Root et al's theories that are true regardless of what paradigm you use to treat the foot. e.g. partially compensated forefoot or rearfoot varus. There are parts that make no sense. e.g. the explanation of bunion formation. Your job as a student is sort out what makes sense and what does not make sense and keep the good stuff.

I'm a proponent of the tissue stress approach, however I still use some of the information that I learend from Root et al.
