I joined Podiatry Arena when I was a student and never introduced myself but today I say hello!!

I qualified as a podiatrist in 2006 at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa and went on to work in private practice as a locum for 14 months.
After much thought I decided to get some overseas experience and here I am in London. Woohoo!

I have registered with many agencies here and waiting for my CRB which is taking quite some time to get back but it is also frustrating as I cant work in the NHS until I have it, aaah! Let's hope it arrives back soon so that I can start helping people and also learn.

I can honestly say that I have no idea why they are so quiet.

The podiatry profession in South Africa is extremely small and everyone does tend to keep to themselves in private practice. There are the exceptional few that take some time out of practice to do research and try to promote the profession, but the majority are quite happy to stay in their comfort zone of private practice and plod along. That is my opinion, but hey, what do I know...? I'm still a baby in the profession :)
