In Memoriam – Dr. Brian S. Brodie PhD, MSc, BA Hons, DPodM, FCPod (Mgt), FRSH
Colleague, mentor, friend. With the passing of Brian Brodie on November 14, 2010, we have suffered a great loss. Those of us who were privileged to have studied under him will remember his unyielding passion for excellence coupled with his gentle good humour and encouragement. In later years, we appreciated his acceptance of us as colleagues and could only admire his example as he displayed a level of scholarship in learning and writing to which few of us aspire and fewer yet attain. As a board member and President of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine, Brian’s contributions played a major role in that organization’s growth and success. A man of broad interests, Brian published on podiatry and public health, promoted forensic podiatry and was a long standing member of the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society and a founding member and President of the College of Certified Saskatchewan Genealogists.

Brian, we will miss you, but are proud to have known you. Rest in Peace.

Brian definitely did a lot for podiatry in Canada. I attended his funeral yesterday, it was a very nice, touching service.

Sad to read this news. I was with Brian at the London Foot Hospital in the 1960s.

Last saw him in 1968 until 2008 when we met up after 40 years with several contemporaries in Bournmouth. A memorable day.

Do let Gillian know that our thoughts are with her.
