    The CQC inspect nursing/care homes.

With talk about chiropodists charging ridiculously low prices (I believe that £8 was cited by someone on TFS) there should be inspections to check that these people are doing things correctly! 1 set of instrments being used on 1 patient.

    What do others think?

    C.Sayegh,
I totally agree but how can it be enforced and who will check this ? The CQC will inspect care/nursing homes but only to see that they are following existing DHSS legislation. They don't investigate individual complaints.

Nursing homes on the whole want the cheapest option for their residents. If anything goes wrong they can say it's not their problem, as these practitioners are not employed by them.

I know of one nursing home who told the hairdresser they wanted a discount for residents as she was using their water and towels!

    regards
