    Hello.
I am a final year Pod student in the UK - this is my first posting on Podiatry Arena, so go easy on me. You might scar me for life!

A recent debate with fellow final year cohorts regards the treatment of knee injuries in their various guises and whether diagnosis/treament/management falls within the remit of podiatry or physiotherapy?

I would really appreciate the opinions of of my soon to be peers who have much more experience in such matters, though I suspect the argument maybe one sided, this being a podiatry forum! Nevertheless I'd appreciate your input.
    Thanks

    Kwok

It's not an either/or scenario as far as I'm concerned. A shared care/interdisciplinary team approach will yield the best outcomes in my opinion.

Sounds like a legal question. In California the scope of practice is limited to the foot and ankle and all of the tendons and muscles that insert into the foot. In the U.S. the scope of practice varies by state. That's not say that you can't learn about knees to the point that you might know more than the average G.P. or even orthopod.
