Tha APP-HRFG will be hosting the 2nd Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention Conference in Melbourne in October this year at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The conference committe has secured 2 international and one local keynote speakers, and is currently finalising the rest of the conference program.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN!!
The program organising committee is calling for submissions of abstracts of original research in the area of the high risk foot. Presentations should impact on clinical practice in the areas of assessment, diagnosis and management of the high risk foot that can support clinicians to provide best practice care.

Dr Kristien Van Acker

Dr Van Acker is a diabetes consultant and runs many multidisciplinary foot clinics in Belgium. She is an internationally renowned leader, champion and researcher in Diabetic Foot Disease. Dr Van Acker is the current chair of the IWGDF and chair of the Consultative section of the Diabetic Foot of the International Diabetes Federation
This is Dr Van Acker's first trip to Australia in recent times and it will be a great opportunity for all to learn from one of the key global influences of diabetic foot disease
Professor Fran Game

Consultant Diabetologist, Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology, Clinical Director R&D, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Honorary Professor, University of Nottingham, UK.
Fran is already familiar to APP-HRFG members from a previous seminar and is a regular visitor to Australia. The Group is extremely fortunate to engage with and welcome Fran back for this event. She is a strong researcher, impressive physician and experienced presenter. This an amazing opportunity to hear the latest from one of the best in the field of diabetic foot disease.
Professor Stephen Twigg

Professor Stephen M. Twigg, is a physician-scientist, translational researcher, Kellion Professor of Endocrinology and Stan Clark Chair in Diabetes in the Sydney Medical School and Charles Perkins Centre, the University of Sydney; plus Head of Dept of Endocrinology and Medical Head of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Research Laboratories, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney.
Professor Twigg's research, teaching and mentoring roles are extensive and well regarded. Professor Twigg will share his knowledge and research of Diabetes complications.
