    February 29, 2012 represents a "leap day" that helps keep the calendar in tune with the Earth's orbit around the sun that takes 365 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes, and 16 seconds.

    I thought you all might want to also know that there are also "leap seconds" that are needed to account in variances in time that the Earth takes to rotate about its own axis and are, therefore, needed for a different reason than are "leap days".

    I saw a gentleman yesterday who is due to celebrate his 8oth year today. He informed me though that he is in fact only 20 as he has only celebrated his 'birth day' 20 times. He is very much looking forward to his 21st in four years.
