I had a tibial sesamoidectomy a month ago. It was fractured and was an avn. Initially this was identified as the cause of localised swelling below the sesamoid area. I suspected tendinitis of one of the flexor tendons as well but this was dismissed by my surgeon who said it was a result of the fracture and nothing showed on ultrasound or mri. This swelling still persists. Although I have slightly limited range I can move my toe up and down without discomfort and am progressing with PT.
