Looking for anything useful about a quite nasty condition.
acral lentiginous melanoma of 3.5mm thickness on the plantar of the foot.
It is already in the hands of the appropriate specialist but want to find out more for myself.

Hi Kiwi, nasty one. scarring may have a huge impact on this foot. Try posting this in another forum to see if anyone else has had a similar case. May be an interesting case for us to follow. Pictures would be interesting to add, although not at the clients expense. Best wishes to your client.

    Kind regards

  3. Yes the scarring is going to probably be an issue, especially as it is located on the heel.
Patient has now moved on to plastic surgeons caseload so i may not see them again. will do my best to follow up and maybe get image.

Some surgery is reviewed to a healing state. And then the dynamics of functioning on it not addressed as this may not be the plastic surgeons area of expertise. Support, cushioning, protection will be imperative. Some of the silicone sleeves are great with orthoses if appropriate. a follow up phone call to check on your client and let them know you are there and can help would be great. for them. (((( the photo, great for us :) ))))))

    Cheers
