For those interested, I was interviewed by the Sacramento Bee on how an athlete should handle an injury that occurs just before an anticipated race in an article that was just published today.

The California International Marathon is scheduled to be run tomorrow at 7 AM. I expect one of the Kenyans to win the race in about 2:13. Can't wait to see them...they are so fun to watch...and I bet they won't be barefoot!;)

  2. Here's the printed article from today's Sacramento Bee.

Also, here is a photo I took at the 10 mile mark of the lead pack running at about 5:09 mile pace. Man, are they fast!

  3. Jacob Chemtai, from Kenya (but living in Santa Fe, New Mexico) won the 32nd Annual California International Marathon in Sacramento in 2:12:02. Here he is close to the finish in downtown Sacramento. I guessed Kenyan (got that one) and guessed 2:13 (was off by 1 minute) probably because it was 53 degrees F, no wind, no rain....perfect marathon weather!
