Just wondering if anyone has experience using negative galvanic current for matrixectomy instead of something like phenol? I'm told using negative galvanic current will reduce regrowth to virtually nil and also reduces healing time from a couple of weeks to a couple of days (i.e. you could do the procedure on Monday/Tuesday and have the person back playing sport on the weekend). Anyone had this kind of experience? Is anyone in Australia using this technique?

WW Abbott and Geho EH, Jr wrote an article in JAPMA (Vol. 70, Issue 5, 239-243, May 1, 1980) Partial matricectomy via negative galvanic current. Richard Bouche also wrote an article in Clinics in podiatric medicine and surgery (1986 Jul;3(3):449-56) entitled Matricectomy utilizing negative galvanic current. I've read Dr Bouche's article but haven't been able to get my hands on the earlier article.

Thanks Admin2 and NewsBot. Isn't negative galvanic current different to electrosurgery (which I assume is hyfrecation) though???
