I've just found out that a company called chiropody.co.uk is setting u a podiatry clinic within a Chiropractic clinic 2 doors along from my own long established practice.

Now the problem I have with this is not the competition. It is the proximity and the fact the confusion it will cause with patients.

Has anyone else out there ever had this problem?

Not a lot you can do.
Use it to inspire yourself to do better.
Personally, I don't know why people are that stupid to do it for.

Hey there, bit late on the discussion. But just wanted to reassure. We were shadowed by another clinic at two of our sites with the same proximity.
We got creative and just marketed ourselves differently to stop the confusion. We also followed our ethical standards- we returned their misguided patients to the right clinic- not sure if it was reciprocated fully- hmmm. But at the end of the day, be yourself. They will stay if its the right professional relationship.
And end point- there is enough business out there to work collaboratively.

I have often wondered why car showrooms are placed close together, and restaurants open in the same areas. It might be that they attract clientele and it is not detrimental to trade. Make friends with them!

They can help bring more footfall to your practice.

How have things gone as this pot is 2 years ago?

I have retired two and a half years ago. I am now 79 years old. The reason I have retired was because we have moved to a new house 200 miles away and I don't have suitable premises here.
I am trying to sell my Biogun and other bits and pieces.

Happened to us several years ago to our foot clinic. It made us work extra hard to make the patients happy. It actually helped us in the long run. It made the staff help the foot pain issues of the patients. A little extra service really helps. We had their patients come to us in the long term. It also prevented other doctors to open near us. Not to worry, just work harder to make the patients happy and they will be loyal.
