    Hi,

I've been lurking here for about a year now. I've been a runner for about 20 years now. I've suffered in the past with various achillies tendon ailments until finally in 2010 giving up my running shoes and running barefoot. Since that time the pain and discomfort that has routinely been associated with my injury has decreased quite substantially. I'm interested in finding evidence to support that running shoes are necessary or benificial. I'm also interested in having my veiws challenged. I have a little medical background knowledge, as I am employed as a nurse, but don't really have much knowledge on podiatry.
