    Hi arena folk.

Does anyone know of any literature/studies that have investigated the use of insoles for the reduction of patella dislocation.

I realise that there is more that needs to be done in relation to local muscle strengthening etc. but also know that I have treated patients with other musculoskeletal pain that note reduction or cessation of patella instability since the use of their insoles.

Mechanically there seems to be justification in using an insole that may reduce valgus knee moments (for those with lateral dislocations), but I would feel more happy using this treatment for this problem if there is some sort of evidence base.
