Can anyone tell me the point of this patent or why it has been granted? Unless I'm missing something unique about it, it's fairly easy to show that this has been in circulation for a while, even prior to 2014 when this was filed.

Yep; I see the fees for getting that patent as being a big waste ... unless they did it for marketing purposes "we got a patent for this"
The system in that patent is on the market, but they not making the patent claim.

I feel like this is a good opportunity to announce our new patent-pending Charcot orthotic. We have trademarked the name The Bondi.

Recent trials have shown this to be very effective. We would love feedback and commentary on this revolutionary design. If anyone uses this design we will be forced to pursue legal action, even if 3D printed as this is of course patent-pending by Lasercam Orthotics.

    Yep- excellent comic timing.

  7. Sorry, you are infringing on my Spike-Thotic patent from April 1, 2008...http://www.podiatry-arena.com/podiatry-forum/showthread.php?t=9936 (post #6)....

    Sorry Kevin for the infringement

But wouldn't you say I am more than 10% different? After all I don't want to throw out years of research clinical trials etc.

what if I was to change the design slightly? Would that be. "not stepping on your toes"

How's this Kevin changed enough? This is what we call the White Pointer. and the advertising slogan will be "Just when you though it safe to go back out and walk"
    (Registered trade mark pending)

In 1995 I was granted a patent for System and Method of Manufacturing Foot Supports US 6141889 A.
    Hauntingly similar to my patent.
