    For information purposes:

I was having difficulty obtaining Ethyl Chloride spray for use as a pre-injection analgesic (as recommended by Kevin Kirby in the mosaic VP thread) I contacted my usual suppliers DLT & Sandy etc. who advised me they could not obtain it. Mobilis could supply but would charge additional carriage if the order did not meet the minimum amount (ie. under £50.00). My local hospital said they weren't taking on any more additional external orders!

My mum (God bless mums the world over) ;) told me to try Tesco pharmacy. So to cut a long story short, Tesco pharmacy will indeed order any pharmacy supplies required providing they can be obtained by their suppliers.

No additional charge for carriage as you collect in store. :D

They will also supply anaesthetics if Scandonest is not your choice (this does appear to be the only one available in most of the Podiatry supply catalogues I have seen).

I do not wish to cause problems to small suppliers but if a they are not prepared to provide more choice then I have to make the most appropriate decisions regarding stock requirements.

    Regards to all,

    Mandy.

You were trying to find a better source for your Ethyl Chloride? You stumbled on the service offered by Tesco, did you make an order and did it turn out as planned?

    Hi again Lawrence,

Yes. I ordered by telephone & the Tesco pharmacist contacted me the following day to advise me it was ready to collect. I also ordered 0.5% Marcaine at the same time.
Yes. Very happy with their service. The Ethyl Chloride provided topical relief for the initial sharpness of the injection although you do have to be ready to inject as soon as you have sprayed the area as the effect is very short.

Pt. said was not too painful. I will certainly be using it in future.

    Regards,

    Mandy.

PS. Another suppliers catalogue arrived at my clinic yesterday. Also supply Ethyl Chloride. No delivery charge if ordered online: www.myfootcaresupplies.com
