Hi to all -- anyone have any strong views on the use and or efficacy of dorsiflexion night splints for long term plantar fasciitis ? Many thanks rdavis

I use them all the time and generally see good results. Before they were readily available, we would put a short leg walking cast on and bivalve it. Less impressed with the clam shell splints because they tend to irritate across the front of the ankle at the strap. The front only splints are nice concept, but inadequate since they move down the leg and continue to let the foot remain in more plantarflexion than it ought. If they were longer so they could be strapped above the muscle belly of the gastroc, they would work fine.
