Hi there we are currently tossing up between three chairs for for our practice. Has anyone used a healthtec lastest model chair or a gharieni LR chair or Gharieni SPL Podo? Or a sigma Podiatry Chair? The cost is high so I dont want to make the wrong choice!

 

I have been using Berchtold Callista patient chairs for many years (available from Briggate - Melbourne).
Considerations:
Can the chair cope with the 175+kg patient?
Can the chair flatten completely?
Can the chair lower adequately for short people to get on it?
Are the inner mechanical working protected from wandering hands of kids while Mum is in the chair?
Are the lift workings covered so that you can clean quickly?
Will your body still feel fresh with the 8am and the 6pm patient?
Can you move the chair easily to clean beneath or move out of the way if a pt is wheelchair bound?
Is the chair comfy for the pt to sit on for 30 minutes?
Does the supplier ofer a warranty? Can they service?
Does the colour/look suit the image you are wanting to portray?
How many years/patients do you expect the chair will function?
The price? Important yes, but only part of the decision

The biggest thing that I think you should look at is the max height...

 

The above proints given for specs are right, to look out for. I recently bought a new MTI. This is a large chair that lifts up to 300kgs. The most important question you should also ask is back up service. Good that you can get this from here or there, but when the chair needs a problem fixed, then does the supplier service chairs? How quickly will they come out and fix?
i had a problem recently with aonther of my chairs, which has been in service at my clinic for more than 10 years. One phone call and service back up same day. No functioning chair, NO patient work !!
